My name is Javier, originally from Jaén, in Andalucía (southern Spain), and I’m based in Dubai working full-time as an Android engineer at Level Shoes, a globally recognized retail company specialized in the world of designer footwear and accessories. Together with an fantastic team across several countries, we’re crafting the ultimate e-commerce platform.

Starting from the beginning, I graduated from the University of Malaga, where I became more interested in programming and built my first Android app. Shortly after, I moved to Madrid for my first job as a software developer. Since then, I have been permanently linked to this sector, working in both startups and consulting firms, building apps that reached millions of users and made it to the top charts on Google Play.

I tend to choose places with good weather — I love being close to the beach, enjoying healthy food and feeling the energy of a big city. I really value the freedom of being able to work from anywhere with just my laptop. I’m a very organized and self-driven person who likes to plan ahead and stay committed, not just at work but in life in general.

And what do I do in my free time? I usually read about tech, try out new tools or features related to my work, and explore topics like travel, investing — especially in crypto — and AI. Outside the digital world, I spend a lot of time reading books on psychology and personal growth. After all, it is also necessary to know the programming language of our mind, isn’t it? That’s what neuro-linguistic programming is all about.

I am also passionate about tennis, a sport I have been been playing and watching since I was young, and one I used to spend many hours a week training and competing in. But since moving to Dubai, I’ve swapped my tennis racket for a padel one (the city’s favorite sport lately).

How do you see your future? My professional focus remains on software engineering and Android app development, while also exploring cross-platform frameworks like Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile and Flutter. Along the way, I’ve become increasingly interested in data analysis, with the aim of organizing, managing and extracting meaningful insights that can actually help companies make better decisions.
